Conference Chair, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Laboratory, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Vice Chair of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, and Deputy Director of Guangzhou Laboratory.

His research primarily focuses on super-resolution imaging technology and ultra-sensitive detection. He has made outstanding achievements in elucidating the molecular mechanisms of vesicle secretion regulation, super-resolution microscopic imaging, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In super-resolution imaging, he proposed a novel single-molecule interferometric localization technology and developed a groundbreaking interferometric localization microscope capable of resolving nanoscale subcellular structures. This work was selected as one of China's "Top 10 Advances in Life Sciences" in 2021. In TEM research, he overcame critical "bottleneck" technological challenges by leading the development of China's first domestically produced field-emission transmission electron microscope with independent intellectual property rights.
