Cell biology, geneticist, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Academy of Military Sciences, Chairman of the National Center for Protein Science (Beijing), Director of the State Key Laboratory of Proteomics. He is mainly engaged in research in proteomics, precision medicine and systems biology. He has discovered 7% new human genes, discovered a series of molecular evolutionary laws, and revealed a series of disease susceptibility genes in Chinese population. He was the first to develop and transfer for production the genetically engineered hematopoietic factor in China, the first in the world to propose the scientific goal and technical route of the human proteome project, and advocated and led the first international human tissue organ proteome project "Liver Proteome Project". He led the implementation of the "Chinese Proteome Project" and completed the proteomic analysis of the top ten common tumors in China, pioneering the independent molecular typing of tumors by proteomics. In addition, he has found that reprogramming of cholesterol metabolism is an important mechanism in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma, and was the first to propose and practice the new paradigm of "proteomics-driven precision medicine".
