Zhong Nanshan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, recipient of the Medal of the Republic, Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Guangzhou Medical University, Doctoral Supervisor, Chief Scientist of the "973 Program," former President and current Advisor of the Chinese Medical Association, Honorary Professor of the University of Edinburgh, Doctor of Science (DSc) from the University of Birmingham, and Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh, London). He currently serves as the Director of the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases, Honorary Director of the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, and Director of Guangzhou Laboratory.
